Archbishop Murphy dedicates his homily to the words “I thirst” uttered by Christ at a Good Friday Tre Ore Mass celebrated at St. James Cathedral in Seattle, WA. He describes Christ’s use of the words “I thirst” as a significant symbol signifying his sharing of the human condition. “Yes, it was the dry of a thirsty, dying man,” said Archbishop Murphy. “It was the cry of love, of hope, of invitation to all of us to let us know he could identify with our hunger and thirst, and that thirst will only be satisfied when we recognize a God who dies on a cross thirsting for our love in return.”
