Archbishop Murphy delivered an opening address for the Western Regional Catholic Press Convention in Seattle, WA. He believes that a vibrant Catholic press is essential to informing all members of the church as to what is happening in their communities. The archbishop strongly advocates for all Catholic publications to embrace a broad sense of diversity in content – one that speaks to all constituencies. Archbishop Murphy offers a series of recommendations of qualities that should characterize a Catholic publication. He also provides a number of ideas for how to increase circulation and subscriptions.
