In his weekly Montana Catholic Register “Reflections” column, Bishop Murphy emphasizes the importance for all the members of the Church of Eastern Montana to come to a mature understanding and acceptance of what it means to be a Roman Catholic. He says, “To be Roman Catholic is to share in an experience of Church beyond the boundaries of our local parish or diocese. To be Roman Catholic is to profess a faith and to express that faith through worship. We do that not on our terms but on the terms of a Church which gives us an identity as a community of believers.”
