“The dedication of a Church is a powerful celebration filled with signs and symbols,” said Archbishop Murphy as he began his homily offered at the Dedication Mass for St. Yves Catholic Church in Mossyrock, WA. He likens a church dedication to baptism – serving as a gathering place where people of faith can come to be nourished and strengthened. The archbishop urges all present to avoid the pitfall of confining the practice of our faith to inside the four church walls. “We must recognize the challenge which God offers to each of us – for each of us to be the holy people who live and preach God’s word and share God’s presence with others,” said Archbishop Murphy.
