In his weekly “In Joy and Hope” column for the Catholic Northwest Progress, Archbishop Murphy notes how Christ’s disciples ran to the empty tomb to witness personally his resurrection and triumph over sin and death. He invokes St. Paul’s use of the runner to describe the course of human life. “Easter is the time to renew the commitment in all our lives to run to the tomb, to peer in as the disciples did, and to discover the great paradox of Christian faith,” said Archbishop Murphy. “An empty tomb announces the presence of the Risen Christ.”
