Archbishop Murphy delivered this address on Reformation Sunday at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. The subject of his remarks was the emerging ecumenical efforts undertaken by the Roman Catholic and Lutheran Churches. He expressed in no uncertain terms that the two faiths share a common alignment on many core theological and dogmatic issues. In conclusion, Archbishop Murphy stated, “May our joint search for that truth hasten the day when we will be able to share the fullness of what it means to be disciples of Jesus – people who profess a faith and celebrate it to the fullest.”
