In preaching his homily to a congregation gathered in St. James Cathedral in Seattle, WA to celebrate a Mass for People with Disabilities, Archbishop Murphy cites the example of the disciple Thomas who doubted Christ’s resurrection over sin and death. “But my friends, we who gather together this afternoon with this community of people with disabilities know that Jesus is alive and present among us,” said the archbishop. “And when people yell out to us, ‘Prove it!’ all we need to do is to look in the eyes of people with disabilities, to appreciate their joy in living, their willingness to share God’s presence with us.”
