In his homily offered at a Mass celebrated in conjunction with a Marriage Encounter Convention in Bellevue, WA, Archbishop Murphy emphasizes the importance of love as all couples take their journey to wholeness in a relationship to God and to one another. He cites Mary Magdalene as an example for all married couples to emulate. “A love for Christ asks you to encounter one another and to encounter Christ by a willingness to live out the challenge of the Gospel as members of the Roman Catholic faith community today,” said Archbishop Murphy. “It is the willingness to see marriage as a ministry in the Church where people enrich each other with the presence of the Lord.”
