Discipleship is the main theme of Archbishop Murphy’s homily given at a Mass celebrated in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus Annual Convention for the State of Washington. The archbishop emphasizes the importance for all Christians to follow Christ on His terms not our own. He proceeds to define a disciple as one who makes the values of Jesus come alive – the main values being the respect for the sanctity of the gift of life and service to the least fortunate in society. Archbishop Murphy articulated this point by stating, “If there is any major challenge offered to the Knights of Columbus today, it is to be a disciple of Jesus, no matter the cost.”
