In his weekly “In Joy and Hope” column for the Catholic Northwest Progress, Archbishop Murphy provides an overview of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops message this year’s Respect Life Week. It is based on the following: A) Concern for the general welfare and well-being of children, B) Abortion and euthanasia and C) Chastity. “As we challenge ourselves and our society today to respect life, we cannot stand idly by,” said Archbishop Murphy. “There is a need for Christians to exercise political responsibility by bringing to the public forum a respect for the human person, a dedication to the common good, and a deep sense of hope, even joy.”
