Introduction
Tomorrow has arrived today – this is the central message of Archbishop Murphy’s homily delivered at St. James Cathedral in Seattle, WA on the First Sunday of Advent. He characterizes all human beings as being aware of the things they need to change in their lives and our tendency to put them off until tomorrow. We must heed Jesus Christ’s call to be vigilant and ready. “But these four short weeks (of Advent) are also a time for us not only to wait for the Messiah to come, but to recognize his presence in our world today,” said Archbishop Murphy. “It is time to look at all the promises we have saved for tomorrow, and make them come alive today.”
