Bishop Murphy uses his weekly “Reflections” column in the Montana Catholic Register to draw attention to the urgent need for new vocations to the priesthood if the diocese is to continue to make its mission and ministry a reality in Eastern Montana. He says, “Where do vocations for the priesthood come from? They come from within our own midst, from the families of our Diocese. However, a vocation to the priesthood cannot be taken for granted. All Church vocations need encouragement, development and prayer. Most of all, young people who have the signs of a vocation to the priesthood need to be asked to consider this option.”
