Archbishop Murphy shared his vision of the future of Catholic education in this address to leaders of Catholic secondary schools throughout the Pacific Northwest. Catholic schools provide a safe environment for adolescents who must grow and learn in a very challenging societal environment. Another critical role for Catholic schools is to share with young people with the Good News of the Gospel. Archbishop Murphy also stressed the importance of helping young people develop a deeply rooted sense of spirituality. “There is nothing more exciting for human beings than to realize that we can help shape a future,” said Archbishop Murphy. “Few people have such an opportunity as do those who are invited to be a part of the formation and education of adolescents.”
