Bishop Murphy shares his views on ecumenism in his weekly Montana Catholic Register “Reflections” column. He embraces ecumenism while at the same time encourages all the faithful to develop an awareness of what makes the Catholic Church unique – two principal examples being the Eucharist and the sacrament of reconciliation. In closing, Bishop Murphy says, “We share much with Christians of other faith traditions. The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is a time to reflect and pray for unity. But it is also a time to recognize the unique expression of our faith in the Lord through the Roman Catholic faith tradition.”
