The Most Reverend Thomas J. Murphy delivered this homily at his ordination and installation as the fifth Bishop of the Diocese of Great Falls, MT. The homily conveyed his vision and what he hoped to achieve as the spiritual leader of the Church of Eastern Montana. “Secondly, I think you have a right to know what kind of Bishop I would like to be,” said Bishop Murphy. “Most of all, I would like to be a pastor to the people of the Diocese. I would like to be a brother and a friend to the priests and deacons who share with me the responsibility and privilege to proclaim the Gospel, to celebrate the Eucharist and other sacraments and to gather together the community.”
